A trip to one of the most captivating and authentic regions of Morocco, the valley M’Goun, better known by the evocative name of Rose Valley. A labyrinth of splendid valleys and gorges join the Wadi M’Goun, a region where timeless Berber culture has remained intact and where agriculture still plays a key role.

This itinerary allows you to discover one of the most beautiful valleys of Morocco, the M’Goun Valley, better known as the Valley of Roses. You will be seized by the contrast between the arid mountains and lush gardens carpet in the valleys on the banks of the wadi. This Atlas region remained out of time and you will discover the richness of the Berber culture remained intact.

You hike from village to village along the river, accompanied by a male who knows the roads. Always greeted with joy by the people, you will sleep in typical Kasbah built of adobe and share the culinary specialties. An unforgettable experience!

These landscapes that stretch into the desert would be only a stone desolation without the waters descending from the Atlas. These oases, villages arise at the end of a ridge through this source of life which allowed men to garden the mountain. The region of the Valley of Roses is a labyrinth of valleys and gorges where agriculture still plays a key role. Many roses are planted along field edges, for use in perfumery; Morocco is one of the main suppliers of gasoline rose for the French perfume industry.

8 days itinerary in the rose valley – trekking in morocco 

Day One: Marrakech
You will be met by your team at the airport, who can take you on a tour of the city if you like. They can also show you where your hotel is located for check-in.

Day Two: Marrakech – Tizi’n Tichka – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades – El klâa Me Gouna – Aït Youls – Tamgalouna
On your second day, you will be taken by 4×4 or minibus to meet your guides and mule drivers at Aït Youls. Along the way you visit Tichka pass (2260 m); the highest road pass in Morocco, a magnificent panoramic view, after the pass will be semi-desert landscape in the deep south of Morocco. Lunch at Ouarzazate then continues to Kelaa M’Gouna before arrival at the Dades Valley with its beautiful kasbah.

Day Three: Tamgalouna – M’Goun valley – Igherm Adquim – Agerzerka – Agurzga
The departure of our hiking the Dades Valley by crossing several terraced crops then we leave this beautiful valley for a barren landscape for 3 hours, and finally, we discover the beautiful green valley of M’Goun. Lunch at the edge of the valley then visits the village Ighrm Aqdim. Along the way, you’ll find yourself amongst the locals in several villages and towns, which should take about 3 hours and a half in total. Night in tents.

Day Four: Agurzga – Amejgag – Alemdoum
We leave this valley; very green with beautiful kasbah and gorges, 300metres to go up to the pass that leads us through juniper forest to the Ameskar valley. Then visit the beautiful valley of “Almdoune” where you can spend the night. To get there, you will descend into the Amejgag Valley and trek until you find it.

Day Five: Alemdoum – Throats of Qati El – Agouti – Bou Thara
We descend quietly to the oleanders valley (able to cross the gorge with sandals). Small gorges are well known for their beautiful Kasbahs. Day 5 will finish with a bivouac camp at Bou Thara. To get there you will need to pass through the village of the Agouti and the magnificent Throats of Qati El.

Day Six: Bou Thara – Timstiguit – Aït Saïd – Taberkhats
A beautiful walk in the heart of the Valley of Roses with its Kasbahs that are becoming more numerous. The rose fields are emerging around cereal crops (barley, corn, potatoes ….). These rose gardens are used for the production of rose products. Then you will pass the villages of Timstiguit, Aït Saïd, and Taberkhats, which are the homes of various tribes.

Day Seven: Taberkhats – Talmout – Marrakech
Transfer by car towards Ouarzazate and visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou; famous by the many films that have born there. This kasbah 11th century has been declared World Heritage listed by UNESCO and enjoying the beautiful scenery we offer the Atlas. After lunch at Talmout, you will all travel into Marrakech to return to your hotels, showers, and dinner.

Day Eight: Marrakech
